Manifesto is the Art institute of Charlotte's bi-annual film festival, the festival is artist-organized by students enrolled in the Art Institute of Charlotte’s Web Design & Interactive Media program. Each organizational group is responsible for planning and executing every aspect of the event, from branding and promotions to securing the venue and hosting the event itself. Each film festival is given a subtitle to the Manifesto blanket as well as a theme for the event as selected by the organizers. This year’s subtitle of ‘Revolution 9.22’ arrives with a theme built around notions of revolution and the potential for change in pre-existing structures through the medium of film and video.
I was selected to be the assistant Promotions Manager, and was responsible for all promotional video produced during the festival. The main video promotional video was revolution themed, and using the elements of war, the matrix, and moments in history I was able to make a moving 3D room collage. Adobe Premiere and Adobe After Effects was used to clip the footage, while Adobe Photoshop was used for graphics and Adobe Encore was used to burn all the produced videos to DVD.
